Good morning everyone..  What a semester it's been, we are just finishing up processing our last assignment of the semester.  We are off for a couple weeks before heading down to Texas for a few days in Mid June..  I was just adding up some of the details of this spring semester, I was quite surprised..  I knew we had traveled a bit, but 20 trips, ouch and not one "frequent flier" reward from a single airline..  Anyway we were able to acquire 14 new clients this semester to add to our resume...

Today we were fortunate to have the opportunity to photograph the Commencement at the United States Coast Guard Academy featuring our Commander-In-Chief, George W. Bush... What an opportunity and production this was.. We are obviously used to having free reign on campus, not so today... We were stuck in a 30' x 8' box designated for "media"... After finishing up the lions share of our admissions photography this spring last week at Northwestern University, my camera sat idle in my bag for more than a week.. At my wife's urging it came out of the bag on Sunday to shoot Little League baseball.. What a fun time I had.. Kids are wonderful... Just a nice short post this morning as I sip my Venti Bold... How many campuses out there have "stand alone" Starbucks Coffee Shops? I know of four that we have been to in the last couple months... University of Miami, Old Dominion University, Northwestern University and The University of Florida, they have TWO... Obviously I'm a bit biased on this because of my addiction to the Brand... We have definitely noticed that Starbucks on all four of these campuses have become the "hottest" spot during the day and usually until about 8:00 pm... So who else has Starbucks on Campus? I am looking for "stand alone" stores, not the coffee cart that "proudly serves" Starbucks, it's really not the same as a green aproned Barista yelling out "Venti, non-fat, four shot, caramel soy xtra-hot caffee Americano for Steve" .... We weren't scheduled to start shooting until Tuesday morning, but with the weather forecast a bit sketchy we decided to go on over early and take advantage of the sunlight... It has been an extremely tough semester with weather... Here are a handful from this afternoon, hopefully tomorrow will bring the same weather... Two more days on the road shooting and a long deserved rest from travel and shooting... Unfortunately this doesn't mean total vacation, as we are buried in about 50,000 pictures to go through and edit, process and deliver.... In the midst of downloading several CF cards, found this one to show a sense of place today... We are in San Marcos, Texas at Texas State University... We've been to Texas several times the last couple of years, but I never knew Texas has hills.. TSU is huge and Grueling, the campus is set way up on a hill... HAving a great time here though, body's just starting to show the wear from this semester... Have a great day...

That's basically it in a nutshell... We just arrived in San Marcos Texas for two days of Shooting at Texas State University... Our flight was due in to Austin at 11:30 pm but due to severe thunderstorms we didn't get in until just before 1:00 am, just about par for the course this semester... It has felt like we have been on the road for weeks... We shot all day in Lowell MA and then shot down Boston to catch our second to last plane ride before the ratrace comes to a slowdown after next week.. I can't believe tomorrow is the first of May... This semester has absolutely FLOWN by, we have been going 900 miles an hour since Mid-February with very few non shooting days.. This semester has seen 14 new clients among the many returning clients... We are on the road today on our way up the 495 corridor in Northeastern Massachusetts for a few days of shooting and then on a plane Wednesday night to Austin, TX for two more days to finish up the week... We arrive home early afternoon on Saturday and back on the road Sunday for our last trip this semester out to Evanston Il, for a few days of shooting at Northwestern University, what a way to finish up a grueling 12 weeks of shooting..
